Several years ago I was trying to make some photographs along the Willamette River in Eugene, Oregon. The problem was the breeze. So I waited for the wind to die....and waited, and waited.... How 'bout .... now, nope. How 'bout...nope. Very frustrating. I wasn't getting any photographs but I was getting an increase in blood pressure.
So I decided that since I have lemons, let's make lemonade. I changed my expectations and decided to work with what I had. I slowed my shutter speed down and used the breeze to my advantage. I ended up making a series of images of the wind.
Another example of approaching your subject with an open mind. This is a concept that I'm trying to keep front and center, since I don't feel like I've been doing a very good job of it lately.
More next week.
